Each destination answers a different question. Unlimited is for another set once the daily dive is finished. Hints helps when a category feels empty but you do not want the answer handed to you. Geography works on place names and the boundaries between them. Rarity tiers explains what the feedback after each prompt is actually telling you. None of them publish today’s answers.

The dive above is our own practice game: seven prompts, twenty-five seconds each, scored locally against a curated answer set with editorial points. It is free, needs no account, and runs entirely in your browser. For the publisher’s daily dive, use the official game ↗ — it owns the prompts, the validation and the results, and this companion is not affiliated with it.

Find your next answer

Useful places to go before and after a dive.

Before a dive, the how-to-play walkthrough is the fastest way to learn the shape of a round, and the game overview covers the modes. After a dive, review the decision rather than only the score: what the prompt actually asked for, and which route through your memory produced the answer. That habit transfers to the next category far better than memorising a list. What is free sets out honestly what costs nothing, and the themed packs guide covers the movie, sports and lexicon categories.

How a Krillion dive works

A Krillion dive is a run of short prompts. Each one names a category — a kind of place, a kind of object, a kind of person — and asks you to supply something that belongs to it. The game then reads how obvious your choice was. A familiar answer moves you a little; an answer most people would not reach for takes you deeper. You are not hunting for one fixed solution, so two players can both be correct and still finish at different depths.

Read every qualifier before you search your memory. A prompt asking for a country is not asking for a city, and one that limits answers to a single letter or a date range will not accept a name that ignores it. The live game sets its own round count and time limit and shows them while you play, so follow what it displays rather than an assumed rule. Our own practice uses seven prompts and twenty-five seconds because that is what we built, not because it is an official format.

Alongside the daily dive, the official navigation lists an unlimited mode and a themed packs destination, and the public client references movie, sports, geography and lexicon packs. Those change the subject matter you are searching rather than the skill involved. If you want to work on one domain, a themed category finds your weak spots faster than waiting for the right daily prompt to arrive.

Krillion tiers, Too Clever and rarity

Official discussions use names such as Plankton, Schooler, Rare, Deep Cut, Too Clever and One in a Krillion. Read that as a set of labels rather than a numbered ladder. The official FAQ describes rarity methods that differ by prompt: some use familiarity data, while others involve assisted curation and manual review. It also describes the top selection as considering enjoyment, not obscurity alone.

Too Clever causes the most confusion. The official FAQ describes it as a choice that looks obscure but turns out to be familiar — a gap between how hard an answer felt to find and how ordinary it actually is. Treat it as feedback about a decision you made, not as a verdict on what you know.

We publish no points table and no percentage per tier. Scoring details live in the game, they can change, and a republished table would go stale and mislead you. When a guide and the live game disagree, the game is right. What stays in your control is the quality of the choice: a full reading of the prompt, a candidate you can genuinely identify, and a deliberate final pick.

How to find a rarer answer

Trying harder to think of something obscure usually sends you back through the same handful of names. Change how you search rather than how hard you search. Begin by recalling one candidate you can explain without hesitation. That gives you a floor, and it frees you to explore without risking an empty answer.

Then change a single cue. Move to another region, another era, another material, another setting, or a hobby you know well. One changed cue is far easier than demanding a completely new idea from nowhere. If the first route was household use, try a professional setting; if it was a famous example, try a specific detail from something you have handled or read about.

Before submitting, run a confidence check: can you say why it belongs, is the name complete, and does it satisfy every condition? A long or unusual spelling is not evidence of anything. If the alternative introduces several uncertainties, keep the answer you already trust. Our rare-answer routine turns this into a four-step habit, and every example in it is invented practice rather than a game prompt.

Frequently asked questions

A few things to know before you play.

01What is the Krillion game?

Krillion is a browser trivia game built around uncommon correct answers. Instead of finding one fixed answer, you name something that fits a prompt. Less obvious accepted answers can take your dive further.

02Where can I play today's Daily Dive?

Visit Krillion.io to play today's Daily Dive. Our homepage contains a separate practice game. The publisher controls the daily prompts, answer validation, and results. This independent guide helps you prepare and understand the game.

03Is there a Krillion Unlimited mode?

The official site includes an Unlimited entry in its navigation. Our Unlimited guide explains how to find it and how to use repeat play to practice category recall.

04Do these hints reveal today's answers?

No. Our hints teach a repeatable approach to category boundaries, recall, and choosing a clear answer. They do not claim to reveal a live daily answer list.

05Is this the official Krillion website?

No. Krillion Field Guide is an independent companion. The official game is operated at Krillion.io, and this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by its publisher.
